Who ever said, “Don’t go chasing waterfalls” has obviously NEVER visited a Vancouver Island waterfall in the spring. The surrounding forests are lush with old-growth greenery, the birds are happily chirping, there’s nary a soul in sight and, most importantly, the water levels are so high that the waterfalls are gushing with glacial water.
Okokok. If you don’t know by now Lower Johnson (or #LoJo – I’m trying to make this work) is such a rad place to explore – trendy coffee shops, charming restaurants, fashionable clothing stores, and the like, #LoJo is an eclectic mix of some of Victoria’s coolest locales. There’s been a few stops on our list to explore – like Rook & Rose, Hey Happy, and The Regional Assembly of Text, but one that’s news to me is Little Gold.

Hello LLVI readers! Is that weird – LLVI?! Sarah and I still aren’t used to the name change (even though we’re OBSESSED with the switch to LLVI) so calling you LLVI’ers instead of LLN’ers is weird!
Speaking of changes, Sarah and I wanted to try some place new in Victoria (since, as you know, we’re newbies here). Which is why, when talks of Christmas dinner with our friend Jenna came about, we knew we wanted to try Il Covo Trattoria:
Who was excited to see all that rain this week?! More importantly, who braved the elements and headed to the beach to storm watch? I know that Tofino/Ukee have a lock on storm watching but if the elements are just right, you can storm watch from Parksville and Nanaimo, too!
